Summer Is Here

Spring is short and quick here in our parts, and summer weather has greeted us! Instead of complaining and whining about the weather we are choosing to embrace it and enjoy as much as possible! We are spending lots of time getting wet, and enjoying the cool evenings! We had so much fun at the batting cages the other night! I creamed some balls (slow pitch :) ) Owen looked adorable in his helmet, and my man was just way too sexy hitting fast balls! We also had some pee-your-pants-from-laughing-so-hard go kart fun!! I loved racing Jeff and playing a little game of cat and mouse :) We had such a great time with Jeff's parents and sister, we loved being able to spend time with them, and Owen gets spoiled in tons of love from all sorts of family!

So here is to summer and lots and lots of sunscreen :)

Keeping Cool In Summer

I have discovered one of the best parks ever!!

The Tot Lot/ Water Fun at Dos Lagos is AWESOME!!

I love it because it is totally gated and kid friendly, super clean and nice, and the shooting water out of the ground is perfect for our hot summer days! And, after the kids are worn out and relaxing in the stroller you can stroll through Anthropologie! Ummm YES please!

We met Gwen and her sweetie Paisley and Wendy and her little cutie Lucia! Owen loves his little girfriends and always has fun playing!

Owen LOVED walking through all of the water, he got soaking wet! Lucia and Paisley crawled around and got wet too!

It was so fun for them and a good way to keep cool!

Owen Turns One

I can't believe it has been one whole year! I remember this day, we were at my mom's house for lunch and I had already done 50+ squats, walked the block, ate 3 whole pineapples, and salsa to try to get my labor going! Little did I know that this picture would be the very last belly shot!

My water broke that night, around 11PM and Owen was born right around 11AM the very next day on May 16th!

Our life was changed for the better with the arrival of our fist son. This year has taught me more about myself than any other experience I have ever had. I feel like I have grown as a person, becoming a mother. Motherhood reveals our strengths and our weaknesses and shows us even more how much we need God's grace!

Owen grew so fast and it seems like time has just been speeding up and no matter what I do I can't slow it down, so I am trying my best to soak up my moments with my boy!

Owen's life, laughter and adorable personality brings so much joy to our lives. I love his curiosity and his love for the outdoors! He is 110% BOY! He loves to go outside and run in the grass, he loves to squish ants that are crawling on the ground, and play with his balls

He got his love for the outdoors from his daddy and he got his goofy personality from his mommy!

I think he loves to make people laugh, if he does something funny and you laugh he will definitely keep on doing it to watch you giggle and to giggle himself too!

Some of my favorite moments with our dude this year have been:

*Bringing him home for the first time

*Giving him his first bath

*Morning snuggles and seeing him smile for the first time

*Snuggling him up in the Ergo and having him close

*When he learned to sit up without rolling over

*When he took off army crawling at 5 months and then crawled like a champ at 6 months

*Trying new foods

*Standing and then walking at 10 months

*Taking him to the beach

*When he barks like a doggy

*When I find him in the kitchen bent over looking between his legs

*Watching him race his cars all around the house

*Playing "catch" inside

*When he graduated from the baby tub and into the big tub

*Bucket head

*When he yelled inside a baby bottle

*When he learned to give kisses

*Swinging

*"Where's Jesus"

*All of his adorable babble talk!

- I could go on forever people, I love this kid with my whole heart, I am so thankful daily that God picked me to be his mommy! I cannot wait to see the plans that the Lord has for my boy. I pray God would use him to bring glory and honor to His name!

We celebrated this guys birthday for a couple of days! Hey you only turn one once!

But our main celebration was a birthday bash at the beach! I had so much fun decorating and setting everything up! We went easy and had Subway sandwiches, pasta salad, fruit, PB&J's, gold fish, cracker jacks, cupcakes and all sorts of goodies! Our friends came out too to celebrate with us!

Owen loves the beach!! I had to apply sunscreen 20+ times but it was worth it because our powder boy didn't get burnt! I loved watching Jeff take Owen out to the water! He was so curious and loved getting his toes wet!

I know Jeff can't wait to get him on a surf board and show him the ropes!

I was glad so many of our friends and family could make it!

Owen and Ransom are best buds! I love how Owen had to peek under Ransom's hat to get a real good look at him!

Opening presents with a one year old was fun too! Of course he loved the paper but after just one gift he was good to go! I love how simple little ones are!

The weather was absolutely perfect and I couldn't have asked for a better party for our dude to celebrate his first year of life!

Sure big parties for one year olds, are crazy to plan and put together, and yes I know he will never remember it, but we will, and I am so glad that we did it! These are memories I am storing up and I am so thankful for!

I now have a one year old.
