Soaking Up The Sunshine

The past couple of days have been crazy beautiful weather! We are getting outside and soaking it all up before it turns into a gazilliontrillionbillion degrees outside. Owen is all boy and loves to crawl around in the grass eating anything and everything he finds! Cooper loves being outside with us too, the dog lives for chasing balls and running a muck! It's the simple times like these that I treasure most with my family. The times of doing nothing but enjoying it more than anything. I love playing and laughing with my guys. I love watching Jeff be a dad, and a pretty amazing one at that. I love seeing him play with Owen. I love making memories to cherish for a lifetime. I love what God has blessed us with, I love our story and the story He continues to write! Thats a lot of love in just a few sentences but it's all true! I have a couple amazing gifts that God has so graciously given me and it is my joy to love them and serve them.

Sweet Lumpys, Coffee and Scrabble

Date night with my man is my favorite. I look forward to it, I love having time for just us! I love talking and soaking up our time alone, doesn't happen much with our little dude around, so when we get it we treasure it!

He makes me laugh, he is my very very best friend!

V-Day to Sick Day

Valentines Day was a lovely one this year! It started off with this delicious beauty!
I woke up early to make Jeff a bacon egg and cheese biscuit sandwich before work, he was very thankful!

Then Owen got his first Valentine from Mommy & Daddy!
A froggy sippy cup and three zoo animal finger puppets!

He loved chewing on the straw!

Then when I got home from a few errands, Jeff was already home and had the biggest most beautiful bouquet of flowers I have ever seen! There was a dozen Sun Flowers so gorgeous!! He wrote me the most beautiful and special Valentines Day card too!
We don't like to go out and get mixed in the over crowded hustle and bustle of V-Day so I made us a black pepper corn and garlic pork tenderloin, mashed potatoes and salad! Of course there were some candles involved :)

Right after Valentines Day we all got SICK! First it was Owen who took a trip to Urgent Care on V-Day for us to discover he had his first Ear Infection :( so sad. We actually caught it right at the begining so we got him on antibiotics and it cleared up in a week! Then I got sick, like laid out, thought I was dying, head was exploding SICK!

My sweet friend Meghan brought over this bag of all natural feel better goodies! Honestly even now I am still sick, feeling a bit better but still congested and coughing. eeeek!

Now this sweet man is sick! At this moment he is sound asleep and feelin totally yucky!

Sick Face.

Owen was a sicky!

We did manage to sneak out to the zoo yesterday, to meet up with our Davie friends!! Ransom and Owen loved checking out the monkeys! and I always love spending time with Elisha we always have great conversation and tons of good laughs! We got some lunch and "treats" and hit The Block for a bit of shopping! When I got home though, I felt worse, like I should have stayed home to rest :/ this sick stuff is pretty SUCKY!

Hope you all are doing well and staying healthy!

Real Marriage

The Real Marriage Tour was absolutely wonderful! I am so glad that we were able to go and hear teaching from such an awesome Godly Bible teacher! Mark and his wife Grace were awesome!
We have been reading through the book, so a lot of what we heard we had already read, but it was even better to hear Mark and Grace teach it.
One of the things that he said that I love was that "Hard words produce soft people, and soft words produce hard people." It was nice to get some hard words. That is one thing we really miss about being able to attend Mars Hill, it was hard word, but real truth. Solid Bible teaching.

I love how they really stressed that friendship is so important in marriage, your spouse should be your best friend, the person you build memories with, and have more FUN with!
I love how it's all about Jesus, marriage and ultimately all we do in life is about Jesus.
"What if marriage isn't to make you happy, but to make you holy..."
:)

We were beyond blessed by this conference! We wished so many people could have been there to hear those words!
Jeff and I had so much fun together too! We goofed and took this silly picture outside! Then I got a brilliant idea for my brothers picture!! We were able to bring my Dad and Step Mom along, and they enjoyed it too!

It was a lovely weekend, full of blessings!

Bad Pony

This is the toy my son is absolutely afraid of. It actually was the topper to the diaper cake my mom made for me at my baby shower. It is a small, brown, nothing special, neighing horse.
Jeff discovered his fear awhile back. They were playing in the living room and this horse was on the floor. Owen shrieked with fear and started to shake his hands and cling to Jeff. He did that two times. I had been gone that night so when I got home, Jeff told me about this, I didn't believe it. I thought maybe he was scared of something else, so I grabbed it and showed it to him and again he started to cry.
The next morning I had forgot to throw it away, and it was on the floor and I saw him going for it, so I grabbed it and showed it to him, and he was totally fine! We played with the horse and made horse sounds, and all was well with the pony, I thought it strange that it was just that one outburst.
This morning I was sitting on the couch and Owen was playing with all of his toys in his toy bin, the pony must have slipped to the bottom because we haven't seen him in awhile. As I was sitting I look over to see Owen shrieking and doing a cry I have never heard, like a truly scared cry, I jumped up and grabbed that bad little pony and tossed him behind the couch.

All of this to say, pony is no more.

The End.

BINGO

This night was just way too much fun and HILARIOUS not to blog about!! So us girls get together once a month to hang out and do something fun! We have done craft night, Renegade, a movie and now Bingo! I had never played bingo before but after going, you MUST it is so much fun!
So it is a serious thing. The room is full, everyone had their playing cards out, their dabbers and game faces ON! There is this stand with all of the numbered balls blowing around and a person who calls them all. There is a big light up board to show you which numbers have been called so you can keep on your game! The tension is high and you can feel people ready to win!

We met some lovely older ladies who are pros at bingo! They were son nice and answered some of our questions. Of course we had a few giggle fests and almostpeeyourpants moments

So we were playing this one round called six square jamboree, where you could get any of the different bingos but they had to be on each of your six boards on your sheet. So we are playing and I fill up three of my boards pretty quick, then I fill in the 4th board, game's still going, then the next number comes up and I fill up the 5th board, one more board to go. I start getting hot, my heart starts racing, I needed like C23 or something like that, then I see it, my number pops up, but you cant call bingo before they announce the number, those 7 seconds were the longest of my life, but then he said my number, and BIIIIIIINGOOOOOOO!!!
WOOOOOOOT WOOOOOOOOOOT
I was so friggin stoked!! I got bingo on my first try! We are all high fiving, smiling ear to ear, doing a winners dance and all!
Well, 4 other folks got bingo also so it took awhile for them to check my card. They give you this awesome flag to show that you have a winning card. You know I waved it all around like a clown.

When they came to check my card, which they do by entering your card number into the computer and it brings your card up on a big TV so everyone can see that you won, well when they brought it up everyone was like "She didn't get it", "It's no good!" I was about to get crazy because I knew I got bingo, but it turns out my "stamp" bingo had to be in a corner, it couldn't be just anywhere on the board...
SAY WHUUUUTTTT!!?!?!?

I was like oh shoot.
sorry everyone.
:(
Those old ladies were SO mad!
I was a "sleeper"
Someone who calls bingo when they don't really have it.

dang it! So, even though I didn't really win, which by the way did I tell you the prize money is 200-250 bucks each game!! Girl, my baby has got to eat!! bahahahhahahaha
We had such a fun time! Any time with these ladies is always a ball and I look forward to our monthly hooohahs!

Thank you Jewish Temple for opening up your doors for us to play Bingo
:)

Home Findings

Lately, I have had redecorating fever!! There we some things in my home that I kept looking at and thinking "I wish that was different" so I decided to just get going on it!
Bless my husband, he is such a sweet man for letting me have free reign in our home to decorate! I found these chairs at an antique store in town and fell in love with them! Everyone I asked about them was hit or miss, some people loved the pineapples, others hated them. But, I LOVED them! The more and more I thought about them and stared at them the more I loved them and needed to take them home! My husband said YES and away they went! I plan to re paint and upholster them!

I recovered all of our throw pillows for our couch too! My friend and I went to World Market and picked out a slew of super cute cloth napkins to redo these pillows! I was so excited for the project, and it was SO simple! A little sewing later and ta da!!!

Rearranged some photos on the wall, found a spot for my birds and house chalkboard

Added napkins to our table and the sweet vintage colander my sister got me as a fruit bowl! Found a purpose for the millions of mason jar lids I have in my closet, napkin holders!!! genius!

I had been wanting a bird cage for so long, but hadn't found one that I absolutely loved, until I ran into this black beauty!! Scored it for 10 bucks!! and the oil lantern I got for 6 dollars! STEAL!!!

Then I got this little sweetie in the mail as a surprise birthday gift from my sweet friend Jen! I had pinned it on my pinterest and she went snooping, found it and got it!! Such a good idea when thinking of gifts for people just stalk their pinterest!! I seriously LOVE it! Ill have to post a picture of where it resides now with its purty little flowers! Thank you Jenni Boo!

Jen also gave me this amazing table to go between my chairs! I love it and it fits in perfect in our home!
It just seemed like two weeks of sweet deals and steals, awesome surprises and things just working out all at the same time! There are a few other things I would like to do, they involve some wood burning, the number 3 and our new family pictures, but in time, I think I need to give Jeff a break! :)
I told Jeff the other day, I finally feel like we are in a place where I sit back and think, "home, this is exactly how I imagined it to be!" totally peaceful/comfortable/amazing!

Owen Explores The Ocean

Yesterday we played hooky from life!
Jeff had a job at the beach, so he took a half day and Owen and I met up with him over the hill!
I'm so glad we did it! Sometimes you just need a day to ditch life and relax! We walked through the Dana Point Harbor and looked at all of the boats. We watched stand up paddlers paddle through, and even some on prone boards, giving Jeff more places to get out and paddle!

We found Proud Mary's a spot our friends had told us about, so we stopped in for an early lunch. After fish and chips and a breakfast burrito we were back to walking! We loved looking at all of the crazy HUGE yachts, they were seriously CRAZY!

We sat in the sand with Owen and let him crawl around! This was his first time really exploring the beach and he LOVED it! We took him to put his toes in the ocean and he couldn't get enough! He splashed and squealed and flapped his hands! We plan on hitting the beach often this summer so we are excited that he really loves the water! After Owen ate his sandy PB&J we headed to the car. We stopped at a nice coffee spot and grabbed some joe then drove through the beach neighborhoods, and gawked/dreamed about where we wish and hope to live one day!

It was nice to get a day away, get out of town and feel some fresh air. We love the beach!
